I waited for the pain in my foot to go away, and it didn’t. I surrendered my morning workouts, hoping it would help the foot heal, but it didn’t work. In the early weeks, I took Tylenol and ibuprofen for relief from the pain, but after a while I just learned to live with it. What I couldn’t learn to live with was not being able to hop on the treadmill, take a long walk or run after my kids.
The sore pain in my foot simply wouldn’t go away. The lack of motion was killing me and if I overdid it with activity, the shooting pain would quickly make me stop. Then I ran into a friend who recommended a chiropractor in Kirkland. The drive from Redmond isn’t too far, and I felt like I had nothing to lose at that point, so I made an appointment with Dr. Baker to see what he could do for me.
He has, quite simple, given me my life back. Using heat, cryotherapy and a method called Graston therapy, he has effectively broken up the scar tissue that has been causing my problems and helped me regain full range of motion. Keeping the pain at bay requires some special exercises here at home and he’s taught me stretches that are important to do, but I have been able to resume all my normal activities. I can run and walk without pain again, and it’s all thanks to a doctor who specializes in backs.
