Chiropractic treatment in subluxation

Subluxation is terminology that indicates the partial and abnormal separation of the articular surfaces of a joint. Chiropractors believe that subluxation is a process during which the tissues undergo constant changes. Some of these changes include:

1. Hyperemia

2. Congestion

3.  Minute hemorrhages

4. Atrophy

5. Tissue rigidity

6. Fibrosis

7. Local ischemia

Chiropractic treatment in subluxation can be very helpful as compared to the usual physiotherapy techniques. The subluxations of the spinal vertebras can be extremely painful and they take a lot of time to recover.

Most of the chiropractors treat the subluxation of the vertebras on the basis of the belief that the treatment of spinal subluxation will restore and maintain the health. Chiropractics believe that the subluxations cannot be detected by the usual technologies.

There are various explanations that chiropractors use to explain the effect of chiropractic treatment in subluxation. Some of these include: Increase in white cell respiration and reflex global response.

The chiropractic treatment in the subluxation includes various adjustments like: Motion palpation, Lumbar roll, Table adjustments, Instrument adjustments, Release work, Toggle drop and manipulation done under anesthesia.

Chiropractic treatment of subluxation mainly emphasizes on performing chiropractic adjustments using high velocity amplitude thrust to the affected joints.

There are five components that differentiate the chiropractic subluxations. These components include:

  1. Myopathology
  2. Histopathology
  3. Spinal kinesiopathology
  4. Neuropathology
  5. Pathophysiology.

Chiropractic subluxation is not same as the medical subluxation. Medically, subluxation is absolutely contraindicated to adjusting or manipulating. Chiropractics believe that all problems are caused by the blockage in the pathway of the nerves.
